电影:God's Not Dead

Josh Wheaton: I just keep thinking of that C.S. Lewis line, "Only a real risk can test the reality of a belief."
Kara: So, you're gonna risk our future over your yearbook quote?

Josh Wheaton: I could drop the class, run away, pretend like it never happened, which is what my girlfriend wants. I could sign the paper saying something I don't believe. Or I commit academic suicide in front of a live audience by trying to prove that God exists.
Reverend Dave: How many people in that class?
Josh Wheaton: Eighty maybe.
Reverend Dave: And how may of them do you think would ever step foot in here, or any other church for matter?
Josh Wheaton: Well, none probably.
Reverend Dave: So, your acceptance of this challenge, if you decide to accept it, may be the only meaningful exposure to God and Jesus they'll ever have.
Josh Wheaton: Yeah. Yeah, I suppose so.
Reverend Dave: Check out Matthew 10:32-33.
Josh Wheaton: What, that's it? That's all?
[gets up to leave]
Josh Wheaton: Just a Scriptural citation?
Reverend Dave: If you're still undecided after that one, look at Luke 12:48.
Josh Wheaton: It can't be that simple.
Reverend Dave: Sure it can. You're here because that still small voice inside you isn't happy with the choices everyone else wants you to make. Personally, I think it's the Holy Spirit talking to you. That's how He interacts with us if we allow him to. All you have to do is decide whether or not you're willing to listen. It's not easy, but it's simple.

Don’t be clever.  Be content to tell the truth.

Mark: You prayed and believed your whole life. Never done anything wrong. And here you are. You're the nicest person I know. I am the meanest. You have dementia. My life is perfect. Explain that to me!
Mina's Mother: Sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble because he doesn't want them turning to God. Their sin is like a jail cell, except it is all nice and comfy and there doesn't seem to be any reason to leave. The door's wide open. Till one day, time runs out, and the cell door slams shut, and suddenly it's too late.

Josh Wheaton: How can you hate someone who doesn't exist?

God is good all the time. And all the time, God is good.

18 Leadership Quotes And Lessons From God’s Not Dead The Movie:
  1. Enormous Peer Pressure Exists On College Campuses.  As mentioned earlier, we must equip our young people to stand firm in their faith and even defend it regardless of the cost.
  2. “We’ve been married 20 years.  I don’t go with everything he (Willie) says but on major things I go along with everything he says.”  Making a cameo appearance, Korie Robertson reminds us of the trust which builds over two decades of shared experiences in a healthy marriage.
  3. “My life and my whole eternity belongs to God.  All this stuff is temporary.  Money, fame, success…temporary.  Even life is temporary.  Jesus…that’s eternal.” Responding to Amy’s ambush interview, Willie Robertson reminds her fame and fortune is not what is most important in this life.  Jesus is.
  4. “It’s not easy.  But it’s simple.” Earlier this week someone admitted to my wife how much they were struggling with the Christian life.  Reverend Dave, a pastor of a local church in the movie, puts the Christian life in perspective for Josh.
  5. “Don’t be clever.  Be content to tell the truth.” Furthermore, Dave goes on to add how Josh should defend his faith.  We often make telling the story of Jesus and what He did in our life far too complex.  We should be content to simply tell the truth.
  6. “I don’t have time for cancer.  I’m too busy.” – This was Amy’s response upon receiving a diagnosis she had cancer.  Our health always has the ability to always slow us down.  We must take care of it.
  7. “I know the world can’t get along without you but it’s preparing to do just that.” – Wheaton’s cell phone was continually going off as the doctor was discussing the extent of her cancer.  The words above were his response.  As important as any of us may think we are, the world will continue on without us.  It is only through Jesus that our life has true meaning.
  8. “Some of the most important work we do seems meaningless.” - Rev. Dave played a small church pastor.  These words spoken by a visiting missionary played by Benjamin Onyango should be a source of encouragement for all pastors operating in a small-church environment.
  9. True Friends Always Point You To Jesus – Josh lost a significant relationship in his life because of his stance on Christianity.  When selecting friends, please know true friends always point you to Jesus.
  10. “I think of Jesus as my friend…I don’t want to disappoint Him.” Do you?
  11. “Nonsense is nonsense even when spoken by when said by world-famous scientists.” – John Lennox
  12. “Using romance to uphold one’s self-image is bad planning.”  For teens and single adults, finding your self-worth in a romantic relationship is an unsustainable model.  You must find your self-image in Jesus.
  13. “To the wrong person you will never have any worth.  To the right person you will mean everything.” – Ladies, wait for a Christian man who will treat you like fine china and cherish you.
  14. People From Other Cultures Pay A Far Bigger Price To Follow Christ Than Americans – The movie does an incredible job telling the story of both a Muslim and Chinese student who elected to follow Christ and the incredible price they paid to do so.
  15. “You’re not alone.  You’re going to be O.K.” – No matter what circumstances you may face in life, no matter how alone you feel, with Jesus everything will turn out to your benefit.
  16. “How can you hate someone (God) who is dead?” – Josh ultimately wins the debate by forcing Professor Radisson to acknowledge, he actually hated God rather than not believe in Him.  Most people who reject God have a deep wound they blame Him for.  Always deal with the right issue.
  17. “Sometimes the devil allows people to live free of trouble so they don’t need God.” – The Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome, “God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance.”
  18. Make A Decision To Follow Jesus Christ Today – If you are reading this post and do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the movie reminds us we are not guaranteed tomorrow.  Make the decision today to put your trust in Him.

Decide

"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Danger, Fear, Panic

Danger is real, Fear is a choice"

Extra Large Movie Poster Image for After Earth

“Fear and Panic are two separate emotions. Fear is healthy, Panic is deadly"
http://ww3.advancedcreation.fr/galerie/files/galerie/19699/Chasing%20Mavericks.jpg

Proverbs9:10"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Danger is real, Fear is healthy, Panic is deadly.

Obey and respect vs follow

I have forgotten how many times I have watch [Brave heart], I really love this movie, and few days ago when I watch it again, I'm found this conversation between Robert the Bruce and William Wallace really interesting.

Robert the Bruce: I'm not a coward. I want what you want, but we need the nobles.
William Wallace: We need them?
William Wallace: Nobles.
[laughs a little]
William Wallace: Now tell me, what does that mean to be noble? Your title gives you claim to the throne of our country, but men don't follow titles, they follow courage. Now our people know you. Noble, and common, they respect you. And if you would just lead them to freedom, they'd follow you. And so would I

Now I have a better picture between respect, obey and follow.

I'll respect and obey those above me but I follow Jesus
I'll respect and obey rules but I follow Jesus.

Go get it

Great quote from Captain America

Col. Chester Phillips: General Patton has said that wars are fought with weapons but are won by men.

Abraham Erskine: ... ... the strong man who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power, but a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows... compassion.

Abraham Erskine:  ... ... you will stay who you are, not a perfect soldier, but a good man.

crime, criminal.

Hate the crime, not criminal. - movie [October baby]

Thursday, 27 December 2012

"Learn Me Right"

(Birdy With Mumford & Sons)

Though I may speak some tongue of old
Or even spit out some holy word
I have no strength with which to speak
When you sit me down and see I’m weak

We will run and scream
You will dance with me
We’ll fulfill our dreams and we’ll be free

We will run and scream
You will dance with me
We’ll fulfill our dreams and we’ll be free

We will be who we are
And they’ll heal our scars
Sadness will be far away

So I had done wrong but you put me right
My judgement burned in the black of night
When I give less than I take
It is my fault my own mistake

We will run and scream
You will dance with me
We’ll fulfill our dreams and we’ll be free
We will be who we are
And they’ll heal our scars
Sadness will be far away

From Young to Old

When I was young, I was too busy; When I was older, I was too tired.
